In 2019 Lara picks up the keys to a small wine shop on Via Garibaldi, a few steps from Piazza del Popolo. Inside: the tanks of wine on tap, a few shelves of bottles and a simple idea: in Montespertoli, good wine is sold looking people in the eye.
Since then Il Fiaschetto has become Il Fiaschetto di Lara, and not only in name. It's the place you walk into for a flask of red and stay for a chat, where a word of advice counts more than a label, where on Sunday morning you stop by for the wine for lunch. You taste, you talk, you choose: hurry stays outside the door.
Lara didn't stop at the counter. With the Merchants and Artisans Association, which she chairs, she has filled the town's calendar: the summer street dinners every Wednesday, the Spring Festival, Halloween in the square, Christmas with the tree and the markets. That's why the shop is also Montespertoli's noticeboard: if something is happening, they know it here first.
